About Counselling

My approach to Counselling...

Counselling is a way of exploring an issue or problem you may be struggling with and it is done in privacy and confidence.  Listening very carefully to what is said, without judgement, is what enables me to begin to perceive what is difficult from your point of view.  I can then help you to consider things with greater clarity and perhaps from a different perspective in order to make it possible for choices or changes to be made about a particular course of action or way of living.

No Judgement...

You may find it easier to express difficult and uncomfortable feelings, such as fear, anger, anxiety, grief or embarrassment, with me rather than with someone you know well.  If such feelings cannot be dealt with amongst immediate friends and family, you can explore why they happen and understand more about them in an encouraging atmosphere with me, knowing that I will accept and respect what you say.

Giving you Tools...

Counselling can also be helpful in developing practical ways of dealing with your difficulties and in finding tools to help you manage uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.

Finding your Safe Path...

Counselling is not about giving advice or directing you to take a particular course of action...it is more about me supporting and enabling you to find your own solution or way to live your life in a happier and more peaceful way.
